Skoda
Skoda is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, based in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic.
With its ‘Simply Clever’ mantra, Skoda’s vehicles focus on clever packaging, practicality and high levels of space and comfort relative to their segment rivals. In terms of its place within the Volkswagen Group, Skoda is seen as the pragmatic choice whereas Spain’s Seat brand (which is no longer sold in Australia, unlike its spinoff brand Cupra) is the more sporting brand.
In Australia, Skoda sells a range of passenger cars and SUVs, including the Fabia light hatchback, the Scala small hatch, the Octavia mid-size sedan and wagon, and the Superb large sedan and wagon, along with the Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs.
Within those model lines, Skoda also offers popular performance variants under the RS sub-brand – headlined by the Octavia RS and Kodiaq RS – while the Czech brand's first EV is the Enyaq Coupe mid-size electric SUV.
