Honda Australia has detailed pricing and specifications for the new-generation 2024 CR-V line-up.
There are four distinct trim levels with several variations – i.e. some offer seven seats or all-wheel drive – with the new range including an Australia-first e:HEV hybrid flagship.
UPDATE, 1/9/2023 10:30AM – Honda has released full details for the 2024 CR-V line-up, including additional powertrain, fuel, emissions and dimensions data, as well as imagery. See article for more.
Pricing starts at $44,500 drive-away for the entry-level VTi X and tops out at $59,900 drive-away for the top-spec e:HEV RS. Turbocharged VTi models offer the choice of seven seats in X and L trims, while five-seat L and LX versions offer AWD as well.
Honda has confirmed the sixth-generation CR-V will go on sale from September 1.
All prices are drive-away
CR-V VTi models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine shared with the smaller ZR-V and Civic.
In the CR-V, the four-cylinder turbocharged engine generates 140kW (6000rpm) and 240Nm (1700-5000rpm).
Drive is sent to the front wheels as standard via a continuously-variable transmission (CVT), with on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) available as a cost option for the VTi L and as standard for the high-grade VTi LX.
The single-spec e:HEV RS features a 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid system comprising of a four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine teamed with two electric motors.
System outputs are rated at 135kW (5000-8000rpm) and 335Nm (0-2000rpm) – 20Nm more than the Civic e:HEV and ZR-V e:HEV.

All CR-V variants are homologated to Euro 6b emissions standards, and are rated to run on regular 91 RON unleaded. The fuel tank also quotes 57 litres in capacity across the range.
The new CR-V is 4704 long, 1866mm wide, 1681mm tall, and rides on a 2701mm wheelbase, meaning it’s 69mm longer, 10mm wider, 2mm taller, and has a 41mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
Boot space is 581-589L (VDA) with five seats in use, and 1457-1671L (VDA) measured to the roof depending on variant. Seven-seat models quote 150L behind the third row of seating.
Note: The original dimensions quoted in this article were based on overseas specifications. Australian dimensions have been confirmed and added to this article.
By comparison, the ZR-V measures 4567mm long, 1839mm wide and 1621mm tall, on a 2654mm wheelbase.
That puts the CR-V at the larger end of the mid-sized SUV segment among models like the Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail, which also offer an available third row of seating, while the recently introduced ZR-V is at the smaller end with other two-row models like the Mazda CX-5.
Kerb weight is between 1613kg-1771kg depending on variant; meanwhile braked towing capacity is up to 1500kg for petrol five-seat models, 1000kg for petrol seven-seat models, and 750kg for the e:HEV hybrid.
Honda Australia covers its range with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Honda provides an additional six-year rust protection warranty, and an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty for the e:HEV.
There’s also premium roadside assist for the same period, as well as five years of capped-price servicing.
Honda is currently capping scheduled maintenance at $199 per visit for the first five scheduled services for new models. Intervals are 12 months or 10,000 kilometres – whichever comes first.
Further, Honda will provide complimentary satellite navigation map updates for five years.
The new Honda CR-V is yet to be tested by ANCAP and Euro NCAP.

It’s worth noting Honda Australia has opted to bring in proper blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, unlike the Thai-market model which retains the brand’s old camera-based LaneWatch system which only covers the front passenger’s side.
