The all-new and all-hybrid Lexus LBX will be priced from $47,550 plus on-road costs when it hits local showrooms on March 18.

Two trim levels but three distinct variants will be offered. The base Luxury will be offered only with front-wheel drive, while the Sports Luxury will come with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.

While it serves as the smallest vehicle in the lineup, the base LBX isn’t the most affordable vehicle the Japanese marque offers – the base front-wheel drive UX 200 Luxury undercuts it at $46,085 plus on-road costs. The most affordable UX 250h hybrid, however, is priced from $54,320 for the Luxury 2WD.

Based on the same platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, all LBX models use a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain with a total system output of 100kW.

It measures 4190mm long and 1825mm wide with a 2580mm wheelbase. That makes the LBX 305mm shorter, 15mm narrower, and rides an 80mm shorter wheelbase than the UX.
