The Aston Martin Vantage has lost its lid, with a drop-top Vantage Roadster revealed ahead of an Australian arrival during the second quarter of 2025.
Priced from $435,000 before on-road costs, the Vantage Roadster is $25,000 dearer than the coupe and draws upon the extensive revisions recently made to the fixed-roof two seater.
It also adds what Aston Martin claims is the “fastest electric folding convertible roof on sale today”, capable of opening or closing fully in just 6.8 seconds at speeds of up to 50km/h.
As with the new Vantage coupe, the roadster is powered by a revised 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 sourced from Aston Martin’s technical partnership with Mercedes-AMG, tuned to deliver a thumping 489kW and 800Nm.

The British marque claims the Vantage Roadster can sprint from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 202mph (325km/h), identical to the coupe.
Compared to the coupe, the Vantage Roadster is at a weight disadvantage of 60kg, due to its roof mechanisms and structural enhancements.
Aston Martin says the Vantage Roadster has been developed to offer a no-compromise drop-top experience respective to the Vantage coupe, mirroring the engineering developments and powertrain updates.
Underneath the skin the drop-top Vantage features enhancements from the coupe like the electronically-controlled rear limited-slip differential, and specially tuned Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers.
Aston Martin says the Vantage Roadster also features a modified structure and suspension “to account for [the] rearward shift in weight distribution” – which is quoted at 49:51 front-rear.
This year the marque is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the modern Vantage, which was the first Gaydon-built ‘modern’ Aston Martin to wear the coveted nameplate, and the first to be its own distinct model line rather than a derivative.
‘Vantage’ was first used some 75 years ago, when the Vantage engine upgrade pack launched for the DB2 in 1950 – bringing larger carburettors and a higher compression ratio to its 2.6-litre straight-six engine, bumping power outputs 78kW to 93kW.
Australian deliveries of the Vantage Roadster are due to begin between April and June 2025.
