A petrol engine is returning to the Audi SQ5 range in Australia, joining the existing diesel option and being offered at the same price.
In 2025, the SQ5 range will grow to four models, with both engine options available in both SUV and Sportback body styles.
The expanded SQ5 range arrives early in 2025.
Pricing has been reduced for 2025 SQ5 models compared to the previous year, which Audi says is due to changes in Australia’s Luxury Car Tax (LCT) thresholds. For the 2024-25 financial year, the relevant LCT threshold is $80,567 – up from $76,950.
Also coming for 2025 SQ5 models is the Dynamic Black package, which brings stealthy exterior styling elements like blacked-out badges and mirror caps. It’ll be available for an additional $2500.
No other changes have been announced for the 2025 SQ5 range.
Audi has announced the return of a petrol engine to the outgoing SQ5 even as a new generation is around the corner.
The company revealed the next-generation Q5 and SQ5 in September, ahead of a local launch late in 2025.
Pricing for the SQ5 has been reduced slightly thanks to the increased LCT.

The SQ5 TDI’s service plan costs $3560. Service pricing is yet to be detailed for SQ5 TFSI models.
