The Cadillac Lyriq is spearheading the return of General Motors’ luxury brand to Australia, and a right-hand drive example has been spied in the wild.
Photographed in the carpark of Sandown Raceway, this Lyriq has already been registered in Victoria, likely being the first such example ahead of local deliveries kicking off before the end of 2024.
Cadillac hasn’t yet announced the full variants and specifications for Australia, though it’s previously confirmed the Lyriq will come standard with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain, with no rear-wheel drive grades coming to local showrooms.

This is backed up by its 600 E4 badge on the tailgate, confirming it’s the 388kW and 610Nm powertrain under the skin.
Powered by a 102kWh lithium-ion battery, Cadillac is yet to confirm local driving range figures for the Lyriq, however in Europe it achieved a claimed 530km on the WLTP lab cycle.
While US examples roll on either 20- or 22-inch wheels, this Australian Lyriq is fitted with 21-inch wheels, shod in Continental tyres.
Among the limited list of equipment Cadillac has locked in for Australia, the Lyriq has been confirmed to include the following features:
- Heated, ventilated and massaging front seats
- Heated rear seats
- Panoramic fixed-glass roof with power sunshade
- Nappa leather upholstery
- Adaptive LED headlights
- 33-inch LED display with 9K resolution
- Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- AKG Studio 19-speaker sound system
Local pricing is expected to be announced closer to its arrival, though Cadillac says it’ll be competitively priced against the circa-$130,000 rivals it’s being benchmarked against.
These rivals include the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
Cadillac has confirmed it’ll open two Experience Centres where you’ll be able to buy a Lyriq: one in Melbourne, the other in Sydney.
