Skoda has treated its smallest SUV to a mid-life facelift, culling the range to just two variants amid extensive spec updates inside and out.

The streamlined range kicks off with the base model Select priced at $33,990 drive-away – $1000 more than the outgoing Run-Out.

The Monte Carlo replaces the Signature as the flagship of the Kamiq range and it costs an identical $44,990 drive-away.

If neither quite tickles your fancy, Skoda will sell you the $4200 Signature Pack, which adds some extra goodies to the entry-level Select.

Think of the option pack as a replacement for the old mid-spec Kamiq Style.

Exterior changes to the Kamiq are headlined by the addition of LED Matrix headlights on flagship Monte Carlo examples, while the front bumper, grille, and rear bumper have all been revised across the range.

Over the Run-Out, the new base Select gets an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster as standard, alongside an 8.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone mirroring.

Also standard are dual-zone climate control, paddle shifters, and front parking sensors.

Skoda has also equipped the facelifted Kamiq with extra safety technology. This includes Travel Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring and is available on the optional Signature pack and in the Monte Carlo.

The flagship Monte Carlo brings a panoramic glass roof, 10-speaker sound system, Sport Chassis Control (SCC) and heated steering wheel. However, unlike the Signature it replaces, you don’t get a wireless phone charger or heated rear seats.

The engine options remain unchanged – a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder powers the Select, while the Monte Carlo features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder.

Skoda says that the restructured Kamiq range is designed to offer Australian customers more value at both ends of the market.

    Pricing

The Kamiq range has been streamlined down from four to two distinct variants – Select and Monte Carlo – with an option pack offered to those caught in between.

The base Select comes in $1000 cheaper than the MY23 Kamiq Run-Out, while the updated Monte Carlo is priced identically to the outgoing top-spec Signature and is $1500 dearer than the previous Monte Carlo.
