BMW Australia has increased the asking price for most of its models.
These models include the 1 Series hatchback, certain 2 Series two-door coupes, the M3 high-performance sedan, the 4 Series and M4 coupe and convertible, 4 Series Gran Coupe four-door coupe, certain 5 Series and M5 sedans, the Z4 sports car, certain X1 small SUVs, certain X3 and X4 medium SUVs, X5 and X6 large SUVs, and the X7 upper large SUV.
All the models affected by this price rise have had their before on-road asking price increased by between $1000 and $10,000, depending on the model and variant.
BMW isn’t alone raising the prices on the majority of its range. Audi recently upped the prices on most of its models, and Mercedes-Benz has done similar in the past.
It’s worth noting a number of BMW vehicles are temporary missing features due to production and semiconductor shortages.
The lower $1000 price rise has generally been applied to the more affordable entry-level models such as the 1 Series, X1 and X3.
The 2022 BMW 1 Series range now starts at $48,900 before on-road costs for the entry-level 118i, and extends to $71,900 before on-road costs for the high-performance M135i xDrive.

Many of the higher performance models such as the M3, M4, and M5 have received price rises between $5600 and $8000, depending on the model.
The BMW X5 and X6 M Competition have received the highest price rise of $10,000 and now start at $222,900 and $228,900 before on-road costs, respectively.
Models that aren’t affected by this particular price rise are the M240i xDrive coupe, 3 Series sedan and wagon, i4 electric four-door, 530d sedan, 7 Series sedan, 8 Series coupe, convertible and Gran Coupe, certain X1 small SUVs, X2 small coupe SUVs, the X3 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and iX3 all-electric medium SUV, and the iX electric large SUV.
The Bavarian automaker has a few new cars in the works as well. It’ll be revealing the all-electric iX1 by the end of 2022, the all-electric i7 in April 2022, the M3 Touring potentially in June 2022, and the lightweight M4 CSL in May 2022.
The updated 2022 pricing for the BMW 1 Series, 2 Series Coupe, M3, 4 Series, M4, 4 Series Gran Coupe, 5 Series, M5, Z4, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7 are as follows:
