One-time Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok has escaped with nothing more than a melted boot after a fire in an ultra-rare, ultra-expensive Ferrari 250 GTO.
Chandhok was piloting the 250 GTO as part of the Lavant Cup at the Goodwood Revival when “something went bang and seized up the back wheels and sent me spinning”.
Scary moment for @karunchandhok minutes ago @goodwoodrevival in the iconic GTO 🔥

Most importantly just really glad he’s ok but I have to say that save, car control and presence of mind to quickly get it off circuit and onto the grass was IMPRESSIVE👏🏼🫡

He spun on track and fire immediately engulfed the car, but he still had the presence of mind to pull the car onto the grass so the fire could be extinguished.
The 250 GTO in question is one of 36, with a price tag likely in the US$50 million range.
