McLaren Australia has advised 25 owners of its 765LT supercar not to drive above highway speeds with their windows down or on racetracks, due to a fault which can lead to the rear window detaching.

“The rear cabin window polycarbonate panel may have poor adhesion. As a result, it may detach from the vehicle under certain driving conditions,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“If the rear window detaches from the vehicle whilst driving, there is an increased risk of injury or death to road users and bystanders.
