A 22-year old driver has caused thousands of dollars of damage after he ran into four vehicles trying to escape a minor rear-end collision in Los Angeles.
The Ford Mustang, allegedly driven by Seth Pointe, can be seen reversing to make way for his escape but gets boxed in by witness Paul Sampietro.
“I noticed he was driving erratically and bumping into the people almost until he finally hit someone. So then I stopped and boxed him in so he couldn’t get away,” Mr Sampietro told ABC7.
Mr Sampietro then began recording the incident, which appeared to only enrage the “stressed out” driver.
Looking for a plan B, Mr Pointe sped up into the work truck at an angle creating just enough space to reverse onto the other side of the road.
The Ford Mustang then crashed into an oncoming Porsche Boxster before taking off again.
Although he appears to have all the space needed to escape comfortably, the driver comes back for seconds on the Infiniti.
Trying to continue his getaway, the video shows the Mustang disabled behind the SUV after sustaining multiple flat tyres.
ABC7 reported the Los Angeles Police Department charged Mr Pointe with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to KTLA5, the LAPD also reported “multiple people” sustained minor injuries in the four-car collision.
Mr Pointe was released from custody after posting a US$30,000 (AU$44,829) bond. He is due in court for the incident later this month.
