Renault Australia has announced drive-away offers across its Kadjar SUV range, with prices starting from $28,990 for “a limited time” during winter.

The French brand is pushing the Kadjar SUV hard, as it looks to gain a foothold in the hotly-contested compact SUV class.

Along with the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and related Nissan Qashqai, the Kadjar’s larger body and grown-up interior mean it steps on the toes of the larger Koleos and Nissan X-Trail.

With just 133 sold to the end of May 2020, the Kadjar’s sales currently pale in comparison to those of the Hyundai Kona (4061), Mitsubishi ASX (5319), and Nissan Qashqai (3189).

The French-badged Nissan Qashqai twin is offered in three grades – Life, Zen and Intens – all powered by a 1.3-litre turbo four developing 117kW and 260Nm, driving the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

    Drive-away prices are as follows:

    • Kadjar Life – $28,990
    • Kadjar Zen – $31,990
    • Kadjar Intens – $36,990

“Renault is committed to providing Australian customers with outstanding value for money and this drive away offer on Kadjar is proof positive with a vehicle that also delivers great looks, performance and safety,” said Anouk Poelmann, Managing Director for Renault Australia.

All models get automatic headlights and wipers, LED daytime-running lights, climate control air-conditioning, alloy wheels, as well as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other highlights from the base grade include autonomous emergency braking, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and cruise control with speed limiter.

The Zen bolsters that list with push-button start, proximity key, inbuilt satellite navigation, rear-seat USB ports, roof rails, lane departure warning and blind-spot monitoring.

Finally, the flagship Intens gets leather upholstery, 19-inch alloy wheels, auto park assist and a sunroof.

The Renault Kadjar is covered by the French brand’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of capped-price servicing and up to five years of service-activated roadside assistance.
