2024 Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate brings more kit, sharper drive-away pricing

The Isuzu MU-X SUV has followed in the D-Max’s tracks, getting a Tour Mate package like its ute sibling.

Arriving in Isuzu showrooms today, the MU-X LS-T Tour Mate brings $9200 worth of extras to the 4×4, while being covered by a nationwide drive-away price.

Priced from $73,990 drive-away, the Tour Mate is $6000 more than the $67,990 drive-away offer currently available on the Isuzu MU-X LS-T 4×4.

As with the related D-Max Tour Mate, the special edition MU-X is focused on towing.

Upgrades include a 12-pin tow bar wiring harness and 50mm tow ball; an electric brake controller; extendable power-folding and heated towing mirrors; and a satin black steel bull bar with integrated parking sensors and fog lights.

These upgrades usually set buyers back another $9208 on their own, meaning the true savings equate to $3208 when purchased as the Tour Mate.

As it’s based on the top-spec LS-T, standard equipment includes 20-inch machined two-tone alloy wheels, remote engine start, leather-accented upholstery and heated, power-adjustable front seats.

Power continues to come from a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, producing 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and switchable 4WD system with high- and low-range gearing and a locking rear differential.

The Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate features a braked towing capacity of 3500kg.

It’s backed by a six-year, 150,000km warranty and requires logbook servicing every 12 months or 15,000km (whichever comes first), priced at a fixed rate of $449 across the first five services.
