Volkswagen has revealed another Wolfsburg Edition for Australia, this time bringing unique performance gear to the hot T-Roc R.

It’s the sixth Wolfsburg Edition model to be released in Australia and follows in the footsteps of limited-run versions of Volkswagen’s Golf, Scirocco, Touareg, Passat, and Tiguan.

Like those models, the special T-Roc R has received a suite of cosmetic enhancements.

It has also gained a unique Akrapovič titanium exhaust system to improve the soundtrack of its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Priced at $69,290 before on-road costs, it’s $4300 more expensive than the standard T-Roc R.

Unique equipment on the T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition includes:

    • 19-inch ‘Pretoria’ dark graphite forged alloy wheels
    • Akrapovič titanium exhaust system
    • Indium Grey matte paint
    • Black roof rails
    • Black mirror caps
    • Carbon-look C-pillars
    • Gloss-black interior trim
    • Black display control panel

Most of that gear isn’t typically available on Volkswagen cars in Australia, though items like the Akrapovič exhaust can be purchased as optional extras on some other Volkswagen Group products.

Cupra charges $6300 for the titanium exhaust on its Ateca and Formentor SUVs, while Audi wants $9900 for the titanium system and quad exhaust tips.

The 19-inch ‘Pretoria’ wheels, meanwhile, are already available as an option on cars like the Golf GTI, though they’re much more common in their cast, 18-inch size, and cost roughly $800 per wheel from a dealer.

On the T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition, they replace the 19-inch ‘Estoril’ alloy wheels.

All that comes on top of the standard gear fitted to the T-Roc R, which includes:

    • Adaptive suspension
    • IQ. Light matrix LED headlights with dynamic cornering lights
    • Blue brake calipers
    • R exterior styling
    • Nappa leather upholstery with blue stitching
    • Heated sports front seats
    • 9.2-inch infotainment system

A panoramic sunroof is a standalone $2100 option.

The T-Roc R is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque.

Drive is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox and Volkswagen claims a 0-100km/h time of just 4.9 seconds.

Like other Wolfsburg Edition models, the name pays homage to Volkswagen’s hometown and development centre in Germany.

The T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition will only be available in a limited production run of 200 units with “no plans for an extended run once all vehicles are sold out”.
