MG Motor Australia has slashed the price of the base MG 4 51 Excite to just $30,990 drive-away, undercutting the next most affordable electric vehicle (EV) by $4000.

The drive-away price is available nationwide, which sees reductions of up to $10,425 depending on state and territory.

MG says the reduced price will be offered from September 20 to October 31.

During this time, MG is also offering factory bonuses of $8000 on all other model year 2023 (MY23) MG 4 variants, and $5000 on MY24 models.

These factory bonuses are being applied as a discount at the point of sale.

Reduced prices are being offered on the MG 4 for a limited time. Contact a dealer via CarExpert for the best deal or call our concierge team on 1300 587 992.

The sharper drive-away offer for the base MG 4 Excite 51 will see it undercut Australia’s cheapest EV… which is another MG.

The MG ZS Excite is priced at $34,990 drive-away, just sliding in under the base GWM Ora at $35,990 drive-away.

The MG 4 has been Australia’s cheapest EV before, albeit briefly.

At launch in June 2023, the base MG 4 Excite 51 wore a price tag of $39,990 before on-road costs, making it the cheapest EV on the market.

It only held this title for a few days, before BYD announced its base Dolphin would slide in under it at $39,890 before on-roads.
