Jaguar’s highly anticipated – and slightly controversial – electric concept car has leaked ahead of time, previewing what the brand’s rebirth will look like.
Though the official unveiling of Jaguar’s concept isn’t due to take place until later today, images of the car surfaced online via CocheSpias and Wilco Blok.
First teased as a camouflaged prototype before a publicly derided online rebranding campaign, the slab-shaped grand touring concept will eventually influence Jaguar’s new electric-only model lineup.

Jaguar’s new tagline of ‘Copy Nothing’ extends to the concept car, which features a design never before seen on one of the British brand’s vehicles, with a flat radiator-like front end, a long flat bonnet, a sloping roofline and no rear window.
While there’s a short overhang at the front, the extended wheelbase leads to a longer overhang at the rear, while the C-pillar finishes ahead of the rear axle.
Jaguar’s new mixed-case lettering (which reads as jaGUar) is affixed to the front ‘grille’ and the lower portion of the rear bumper, with its revised ‘leaper’ – now jumping to the right – sitting ahead of its doors.
Though the production vehicle will be a four-door grand tourer, the concept only shows off two doors, making it hard to tell where the real shut-lines will be.
Inside, there appear to be just two seats, while the steering wheel – which curiously sits on the left-hand side of the car despite Jaguar being based in a right-hand drive market – is ovoid.
A wood-trimmed beam separates the two occupants, and there appear to be no digital screens.
It’s expected the new GT will command a price tag starting around £100,000 (A$196,000), pushing it beyond the brand’s current lineup and into a new segment of the luxury car market.
This will be the first of three planned Jaguars on the brand’s new JEA electric vehicle (EV) platform, which is being developed in-house.
Other models will reportedly include a Bentley Bentayga-like SUV and a Bentley Flying Spur-sized sedan.
Previous reports suggest the production GT will have a range of more than 692km and power outputs of more than 429kW, and that it’ll go on sale late in 2025 ahead of first customer deliveries between June and August 2026.
Jaguar has stopped sales of new cars in its UK home market, which means it won’t have anything to offer there for some time.
The F-Pace SUV will live on in some markets until the first quarter of 2026, but Jaguar has either already ended production of its current models (XE, XF, F-Type) or will do so by the end of this year (E-Pace, I-Pace).
In 2021, then-JLR CEO Thierry Bollore announced that Jaguar would become an EV-only brand, while also cancelling a new XJ just months before it was set to be revealed.
The cancelled XJ leaked last month, showing what could have been Jaguar’s first electric sedan.
